If you’re like me, you’re probably looking for some clean beauty products that don’t make you feel like you need to get an additional side gig. Seeing as how your skin is the largest organ in your body, covering it with non-toxic products is so important!
What to avoid? Simple Guide to Clean Beauty Products
As I started my clean beauty journey, I mainly set out to avoid parabens, pthalates, and sulfates.
After undergoing infertility treatment I did a deep dive into what toxins could have been contributing to what was going on with my body. Of course, I couldn’t blame any one product or toxin for infertility, but I figured that the many toxins we encounter on a daily basis would be negatively impacting my health and fertility.
This is when I learned about how pthalates are known hormone disrupters. I immediately started throwing away my beauty products that contained pthalates (spoiler alert, it was almost all of my beauty products!) Basically, if the ingredient list includes “fragrance”, you can assume it contains pthalates, unless it specifically lists that it does not.

After a little digging, I found that parabens are also known hormone disrupters (learn more on WebMD). Sulfates can be excessively drying, irritating to the sking, and thought to be damaging to the environment (learn more on Healthline).
After throwing out 99% of my beauty products, my goal was to simplify my beauty regimen and use products that wouldn’t negatively affect my health. And I needed to do all of this without breaking the bank.

Affordable Clean Beauty Products: Makeup
BareMinerals Powder Foundation
First up, the BareMinerals powder foundation. A little goes such a long way when it comes to this foundation! It looks so natural, never powdery or cakey. It’s buildable, and with SPF 15 your skin will thank you for years to come! I’ve been using this powder foundation for years and have never felt tempted to switch to another brand. It’s gentle on the skin, doesn’t make me break out, and comes in many beautiful shades.

Live Tinted Concealer
Once again, a little goes a long way with this thorough concealer! I mainly use it to lighten up my under eyes and camouflage any pimples. I’ve used it for several months now and it has been so gentle on my skin! My only gripe? I bought a shade too light at my last purchase, so next time I’ll go a shade darker.

Live Tinted Cream Blush
Next we have a 5 star clean cream blush! After trying cream blush several years ago, I’ve never gone back. It has a gorgeous dewy look and stays on all day. But what’s even better than a general cream blush? -A cream blush that is CLEAN!

BareMinerals Complexion Rescue
(As tinted moisturizer or bronzer)
Hear me out on this one-use this as a tinted moisturizer, OR get a few shades darker and use it as a cream bronzer! I love this stuff. If you’re in the market for a tinted moisturizer, this is the one for you. But I also LOVE using this as a bronzer. I dab the tiniest bit across my cheek bones, nose, jaw, and forehead for a blended bronze glow.

Dime Perfume
It is SO HARD to find a quality perfume that doesn’t contain pthalates! Enter Dime Beauty with their clean, non-toxic perfumes to save the day.
Dime has several fragrances that I absolutely love. It sure made picking one out difficult. I currently use I Love Your Smell, Baby. It’s a sweet and warm scent.
Another favorite scent of mine? 7 Summers is soft, fruity, and delicious.
